Can I use an extension cord?
Yes, a 10-amp outdoor rated extension cord can be used. It is advisable to use an outdoor rated extension cord with cover for the connection between the HUB™ and the extension cord. Extension cords that do not exceed 10m / 32 ft in length may be used. Always check the condition of the cord before use. Never use an extension cord in the rain.
Can the HUB™ II be used indoors?
No.
Will the HUB™ II work in a cold climate and is there sufficient heat retention?
Yes, however consider the location of the HUB™ II to assist in reducing the impact of the natural elements and further improve the efficiency of your cook.
What is the difference between the HUB™ and HUB™ II?
The key distinctions between the HUB™ and HUB™II models are outlined below:
- The HUB™II is equipped with an electronically controlled up/down rotisserie pole.
- The HUB™II offers a slide-out storage shelf that operates on telescopic runners.
- The HUB™II is fitted with premium titanium finishings.
Ignition
What type of charcoal should I use?
For the best results, it is recommended to use natural lump charcoal. The Fast Flame Ignition System™ can also light briquettes, however due to the large variances in ingredients used by different manufacturers, we cannot guarantee their ignition time.
How do I ignite the charcoal?
Charcoal can be ignited via The Fast Flame Ignition System™.
Charcoal can also be ignited manually with natural fire starters on the unit or lit via a charcoal chimney and transferred into the unit.
Can I add more charcoal while cooking?
Yes.
Is the lid on the HUB™ II designed to place on top to snuff out the coals?
It is not recommended to use the lid to snuff out the coals. Once cooled, you can remove the used coals into a Hot Coal Bin. You can put this remaining ash onto the garden or dispose of in the bin.

How do I clean my HUB™ II?

Can I use phosphoric based cleaning solutions?
Do I need to use fresh charcoal each time I cook, or can I use a mix of old and new charcoal?
Using fresh charcoal for each new cook is recommended. However, if you wish to reuse charcoal from the previous cook you can do so as this will not affect the unit, please note, used charcoal may retain flavors from the previous cook.
Can I put the grill, rotisserie rod and Cliplock Forks™ into the dishwasher after use?

Where should I store my HUB™ II?
When the appliance is not in use, the HUB™ can be stored outdoors, but must be under cover and covered (preferably with a purpose made HUB™ II grill cover), out of the weather. Ensure the cooking surface is clean before storing away. Always disconnect power cord after use.
Will the cover keep my HUB™ II dry?
Our grill covers are water-resistant and are made of 425 GSM UV protected material with a water-resistant lining. Please be aware that humidity and condensation can form between the cover and the grill depending on your climate and location. It is important to remove the cover and wipe the grill down once a month to remove any excess moisture that has potentially built-up during storage.

Basic Troubleshooting information on the HUB™ II can be found within the user manual.
What do I do if the appliance "trips" the Residual Current Sensitive Device (RCD) / Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)?
1. Unplug the appliance and try another socket location.
2. If using an extension cord, plug the appliance into a socket without the extension cord.
3. If the appliance has recently been exposed to wet conditions, place indoors and allow time to dry.
4. If the appliance continues to trip when used with different socket locations, contact our customer care team HERE
There is a noise coming from the motor, is this normal?
The motor may, on occasion, produce an operating noise. To help reduce this, apply a small amount of lubricant spray into the motor drive shaft before using it for the first time.
To help maintain the motor during times of regular use, it is recommended to add a small amount of lubricant spray once a month. To help maintain a smooth rotation, please clean regularly with a damp cloth.

Yes. The grills are designed to make refuelling easy, though you should refer to your manual to check maximum advised limits.
For even cooking you will need to spread the charcoal in an even layer. You can arrange different levels of charcoal to create different heating zones. Please refer to our YouTube video demonstration for setting up heat zones HERE
